lambo66 Report post Posted August 26, 2013 Hey Guys - I think we all know the positives to owning a Lamborghini .... So what are the negatives? High insurance rates? Road rage/jealousy? And who can work on these cars besides Lamborghini authorized dealerships? I need some straight talk about this subject .... Thanks in Advance. Hovik Report post Posted August 26, 2013 Upside: You get lots of confidence and think you're gonna score hot chicks. Downside: Only ones interested are teenage boys.

And who can work on these cars besides Lamborghini authorized dealerships? I need some straight talk about this subject .... Thanks in Advance. No downsides. Cars are reliable, at least the newer ones are. Never had a road rage incident in the 7 years I've owned mine. Generally lots of good will. Rates are fine if you go with a classic car insurer unless you're 25 or have an awful driving record. Lots places can work on them other than the dealer. Allan-Herbie Report post Posted August 27, 2013 Downside.. Police attention
kinnsella Report post Posted August 27, 2013 Downside.. Police attention Agreed, though I think it depends on where you live. I have no issues with the Lambo, when I used to live in the HH, I got pulled over all the time, down in LA in my old Porsche turbo. I would get a no front license ticket every other month. murcivu Report post Posted August 27, 2013 You only get a cockpit view of your car, if you're the only driver. Would love to see my cars in motion, from a 3rd person perspective.

SingleSeat Report post Posted August 27, 2013 No downsides. Cars are reliable, at least the newer ones are. Never had a road rage incident in the 7 years I've owned mine. Generally lots of good will. Rates are fine if you go with a classic car insurer unless you're 25 or have an awful driving record. Lots places can work on them other than the dealer. Certainly dependent again on where you live. I get someone road raging or generally making an ass out of themselves just because of the car about every other week, so that's the downside for me. I'm enough of an asshole as it is...the last thing I need is constant reinforcement of the people-suck theory. There was one guy a few weeks ago completely enraged, hanging out his car yelling obscenities at me when I wouldn't race him in his POS Mustang. The car really brings out the extremes in people, but I'll put up with the shitbirds if I can pass one 7yo who is completely mesmerized by it. Somebody's gotta start those kids off right. medici78 Report post Posted August 27, 2013 Theres a lot of variables that depend on where you live, particularly on the availability of independent shops. I can't speak on the insurance since that completely depends on your personal financial situation. The downside for me is the attention. I'm a pretty anti-social person, so I get annoyed by people and the dumb shit they tend to comment about the car and have to put on my "game-face" so as not to appear like a dick. There's good attention of course, particularly when meeting other car enthusiasts, but they're few and far between in this day and age. VCR Report post Posted August 27, 2013 Pros: like everyone had said. Cons: with virtually everyone owning a cel phone that takes pics these days, no matter where you go, your car being mobile, stopped or parked, someone nearby will be snapping away on it. Jpegs13 Report post Posted August 27, 2013 It's frivolous, expensive, attention garnering and I wouldn't have it any other way

LamboNutter Report post Posted August 27, 2013 parking ... having to plan where u are going, is there secure parking, no idiots around, as it catches attention (unwanted attention); will it be too low, too wide?

szabo_martin Report post Posted August 27, 2013 Pros- Car is a work or art, the sound, the car enthusiast community, the smile it brings to kids faces Cons- Not being able to park it without worrying about vandalism, jealous cops, parking entrance ramps, people always driving beside you, people taking pics, people talking to you at the gas station, people asking if they can sit in it.... so basically the cons can be summed up by PEOPLE
megachad Report post Posted August 27, 2013 Pros: Everything above stated. And if you are looking into a V12 Lambo, nothing beets the symphony sitting right behind you. Cons: I don't get to drive it as often as I would like.. It's actually hard for me to get over 1500 miles a year on it.
Andrew R. Report post Posted August 27, 2013 CONS: haters in general, they come in many forms... police, neighbors, you name it! PROS: you get a Lambo Owner title on LP!

Modo Report post Posted August 27, 2013 Pro - You want to drive it all the time Con - you really can't drive it all the time. Same. And that damn front bumper, I literally had it fixed, only to chip it an hour after picking it up. ONE GOD DAMN HOUR.
Fortis Report post Posted August 27, 2013 Same. And that damn front bumper, I literally had it fixed, only to chip it an hour after picking it up. ONE GOD DAMN HOUR. I feel your pain, brand new car, few days old on the freeway a rock cracked the windscreen, I was pissed I hated the fact they had to pull the new car apart to install the new screen, anyway, I got the new screen installed, less than a week later virtually at the same spot on the freeway almost identical scenario, cracked screen again
